Hi There, I'm Kristy-Lee

I work with business owners who know they should be enjoying their business more than they are, but instead feel like managing people, and leading a team, is the hardest thing about running their business.

I’ve spent over 25 years working in Human Resources, people management, recruitment and leadership, and since 2010 I’ve dedicated myself to supporting small to medium-sized businesses with the unique challenges they face with all things team and people.

The one thing I know for certain is this:
You simply can’t build a successful business, or get that freedom you started your business for, without the right people around you.

That's why I love supporting business owners, leaders and managers in making this a reality.

A Bit About My Journey

I founded the first version of this business in 2006 as a boutique, local, recruitment service. In 2010 it expanded into a full-service HR Consultancy practice and in 2020 the business evolved again, expanding nationally and becoming People Powered Business.

My approach has always been the same:
To meet people where they’re at, bring a fresh perspective, and provide practical solutions in ways that actually work in the real world.

In 2026, I’m celebrating 20 years in business, and throughout that time I’ve been fortunate enough to work with thousands of passionate business owners and their teams.

The Boring (but important) Credentials
Professionally, I’m a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute and hold undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Psychology, along with a Masters in Human Resources Management.

I’ve also been recognised with a number of awards over the years, including:

NSW Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Excellence in Business Ethics
Australian Business Women’s Network Member of the Year
Central Coast Business Woman of the Year

I host the People Powered Business Podcast, and co-host The Australian Small Business Show, where I get to have honest conversations about leadership, people, and the realities of running a business.

Me Personally

I’m a mum, a wife, a beach-lover, and am based on the NSW Central Coast.

I understand firsthand just how demanding business ownership can be, especially when you’re juggling work, family, and everything in between. I’ve been that mum who is dropping their kids at daycare first, and picking them up last, and I’ve been that business owner who ducks out for an hour to help with school reading groups.

I genuinely believe you can build a successful business without burning yourself out, and without feeling like you’re constantly winging it. But I’ve also experienced the burnout, and the challenges, and take a no judgement approach when working with my clients. This is your business, you get to do it your way.

Supporting businesses inside our People Powered HR community to help them gain the knowledge, tools and resources to handle absolutely anything when it comes to their teams, with complete confidence.
Working closely with business owners through Power Boss to help them master the mental game of being the boss.
Speaking, presenting and being featured as an expert guest on podcasts.
Connecting with other like-minded business owners, entrepreneurs and thought leaders to talk all things business.
